Lorna is the leader and owner of Hillside Veterinary Clinic. She was born in Montreal and graduated with a BSc from McGill University, followed by her Masters of Science from McMaster University. After a three-year hiatus to have her two children, she returned to school again and graduated with her DVM degree from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph. After practicing large animal medicine, she decided to open her own practice for small animal health care, and in 1983, Hillside Veterinary Clinic was born. Lorna has been a member of the community since then, and has always enjoyed treating dogs and cats, and meeting the people who bring them in. Lorna has been a volunteer with St. John Ambulance Pet Therapy since its inception in York Region. In addition to Lorna’s passion for caring for her clients and their furry babies, her second love is small animal dentistry and she has taken extensive continuing education courses in this field. Her skill is recognition of dental abnormalities and addressing them to achieve an excellent and pain-free outcome for her patients. In her spare time Lorna enjoys the gym, tennis and taking long scenic walks with her flat-coated retriever Raven.
