Our Registered Veterinary Technicians, (RVTs)
Tara started off her career with animals when she completed the Animal Care program at Sheridan College in 2006. She went on to work as a dog swim coach for 3 years at a canine rehabilitation facility where a passion caring for special needs pets was realized. From this experience Underdog Pet Services was born and Tara started providing in home services for pets that require more intensive care due to medical conditions and mobility issues. In an effort to provide the most comprehensive care, Tara completed the Veterinary Technician program at Seneca College and earned her RVT status shortly thereafter. When she’s not working, Tara enjoys yoga and taking care of her special needs guinea pig, Max.
Angela joined the Hillside team in March of 2014 however, she has been part of the veterinary industry since her high school days as a grade 11 co-op student. After completing her coop and expressing her desire to be an RVT, Angela was offered a part time position as an animal care attendant. In 2007, Angela graduated from Seneca College's VTE program and has been working as an RVT ever since. Angela loves using her technical skills whether it be assisting in surgeries, taking blood or shooting x-rays. However, one of her greatest interests within the veterinary profession is dental surgery. Angela's interests have grown over the years and she just recently started her career in human medicine as a Primary Care Paramedic. When Angela is not in the clinic or driving an ambulance and saving lives, she can be found enjoying the outdoors camping, fishing/hunting and going to the beach. She also loves to spend time with her crazy NSDTR Chester, needy kitty Stewie and old man chinchilla Gizmo!
Jess loves being part of the Hillside team and is constantly expanding her knowledge with passion and commitment as a skilled RVT. After graduating from the Animal Care Program at Sheridan College in 2011, Jess worked as an ACA (Animal Care Attendant), at an animal referral hospital in the surgery depertment. As difficult as it was for her to leave this job behind, Jess made the courageous decision to pursue her education and achieve her Veterinary Technician diploma at Seneca College, in April of 2014. Jess wrote the VTNE shortly thereafter and earned her RVT status. Jess has a special interest in surgery and anesthesia and can often be found in the operating room providing skilled anesthesic monitoring to our surgery patients. In her spare time, Jess enjoys camping and spending time with her friends and her rescued lab cross "Copper."
