Hillside Veterinary Clinic believes all pets are unique

We know how important it is to find a veterinary hospital suited to your individual needs. With that in mind, we encourage you to visit prior to entrusting us with your pet’s medical care. We will be pleased to offer you a tour of our hospital and/or a “meet and greet” in person prior to choosing us as the healthcare provider for your beloved pet(s).

Our process – What to expect at your veterinary appointment

Our first step is to register you with our clinic. Our wonderful staff, including the Veterinarian and Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT’s), want you and your pet to feel at ease and comfortable while in our care. We do our best to schedule our appointments to avoid lengthy wait times, but occasionally, we will be delayed with an emergency or a very sick patient. We appreciate your patience and understanding should this be the case.

When you arrive, one of the RVT’s will begin by confirming the reason for your visit, obtaining a current weight of your pet(s), obtaining your pet’s vitals including a heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and hydration status. A complimentary nail trim will be provided should you wish. This will be followed by a comprehensive physical examination performed by one of our veterinarians. The veterinarian will develop a testing and treatment plan specific to your pet's needs, and we will go over all of the available options. Diagnostic testing may include blood work or x-rays. For advanced diagnostics, we can arrange for an ultrasound to be done in-house, and sometimes we will refer a pet to a board-certified medical or surgical specialist.
